Any which way ZOO can!

Last weekend, I went with my visiting mom to the Copenhagen City Zoo! Unfortunately, my camera decided to stop working (or maybe it was in a pocket of a bag that may have contained a container of crackers that possibly exploded, getting crumbs in the lens. I think it decided to stop working on its own, but whatever!), but I still have a few that my visiting mom sent me! The day we had planned on going was predicted to have rain. All day. So, I woke up and it was cloudy and I wasn't exactly optimistic about the weather, but it turned into a beautiful, sunny afternoon! The zoo was fairly large and there were many adorable Danish children running about.

They had several giraffes! Did you know that a giraffe's tongue is long enough to lick its ears? And that that have the longest tail of any land animal? The information plaques were in Danish, English, and German, so I enjoyed learning about these random facts.

Ostriches are the fastest birds (also the fastest animal who runs on two feet) and have eye balls the size of billiard balls!

Zebra's stripe prints may seem the same, but are just as unique as a human's finger print, and act as camouflage, by distorting the size and shape of the animal from a distance.

I always pictured kangaroos to be larger, but these were fairly small! There was one mother with a baby peeking out of her pocket and it was pretty adorable.

Earlier in the day, while it was still rainy, we visited the Danish Resistance Museum. It was a small museum, but they fit quite a bit of information! Denmark was occupied by the Nazi Museum from 1940 through 1945. Because Germany wanted Sweden as a naval base, they needed Denmark. Essentially, rather than publicly rebelling, the Danish government complied with Nazi requests, so that they could continue to sort of keep control of everything. But, it was just really interesting! So I learned a lot and had a very fun day :)
